Capabilities

A clear route to qualified supply.

Agree the production route, approval evidence and batch controls for each model.

Three material routes

Steel wheels & rims
Forming → welding → machining → coating
Cast aluminum wheels
Casting → heat treatment → machining → finishing
Forged aluminum wheels
Forging → heat treatment → machining → finishing

These are typical process routes. The actual production process and inspection plan must be confirmed for the selected wheel.

Quality control checkpoints

01

Incoming materials

Check material grade, batch records and dimensional condition.

02

Process controls

Agree critical forming, welding, heat-treatment and machining controls.

03

Model qualification

Request applicable radial and cornering fatigue, impact and corrosion test evidence. Tests must relate to the supplied model.

04

Batch release

Define runout, PCD, bore, seat, finish and applicable leak checks. Keep inspection and marking records.

A standard reference or DOT marking is not evidence that all models are certified. Qualification is reviewed for the exact use and configuration.

Discuss your inspection requirements.
